Many years ago I was doing some quick almost shorthand drawings of places I had found where the trees formed a ring, or eclipse or triangle etc., enclosing a space that felt most definitely held,... safe and protected. The drawings looked hieroglyphic and abstracted. I chose perspective lines and a square format (dividing Earth and Sky) to complete the symbolic language. The color prints have a quiet sublime feeling which is most difficult to translate on the computer screen. They are very complicated prints which required four plates (2 tone, the perspective graph, and the engraving / aquatint plate ) to be successively printed and centered on hansome heavyweight archival rag paper. The prints have back adhesive mounts and can be directly hung. The original set consisted of 13 prints. Perhaps someday I will do single layer reprint of the images to make the prints more affordable. Thank you
